It's Hunt Season for Huck and Douglass!

Both Douglass and Huck returned home to Sarah Reese's farm, Westerly, this week. We enjoyed having these wonderful horses visit us for the summer, but now it is time for them to return home for the fox hunting season!
Huck and Mackenzie

Mackenzie Boyer had a wonderful time showing Huck in the Pre-Adult division with much success, and Douglass enjoyed being well loved by the students at Foxtale Farm.  A special thanks to Lindsey Crawford, who spent lots of time making sure Douglass felt spoiled!
Lindsey and Douglass
While we're sure these good boys enjoyed some ring time over the past few months, we're certain they're eager to get back home and out in the hunt field with Sarah and Ellen! Many thanks to these ladies for letting us enjoy Huck and Douglass this summer!"

ANNUAL LCHS & ED WINS!!

Best Daddy's Helper Award goes to Camilla!
The Foxtale Farm crew survived another typical rainy Ludwig's Corner weekend. We lucked out Saturday with beautiful sunny skies, but had to endure relentless rain showers on both Sunday and Monday. The horses and riders were troopers, and didn't let the gray clouds ruin their good time.

Abby Brauer and Frost were champion in the Baby Green Hunter, Mackenzie Boyer and Huck were champion in the Low Adult Hunter, Maren Nordhoy and Pete were champion in the Low Children's Hunter and Bugsy in the Novice Hunter.  Hannah Fisher was champion in the Children's Hunter and won the Children's Medal, securing Hannah as Best Child Rider on a Horse, and Kendal Thomas was reserve champion in the Short Stirrup Eq and Hunter divisions on Rocket Man.  Despite the rain, it was a great weekend and everyone pulled together as a team to make the hectic schedule work.  All the kids rode very well & we're proud of their efforts.  Many thanks to Deb and Pat Patterson for bringing sandwiches and drinks for everyone on Sunday!

We've had a bit of entertainment back at the barn as well!  Resident barn dad, Ed Conway, recently made a bet with his daughter Bella that he would be able to post in his very first riding lesson. Bella, as well as some other young ladies in the barn, assured him that it couldn't be done, so Ed stepped up to the plate to challenge her.

Karen Pollack was kind enough to lend us her horse Abs for Ed's first lesson. Ed had quite an audience for the event, complete with a videographer (Stephanie) and wine and cheese for the adults (provided by Rick). We're proud to share that Ed did a great job, and indeed managed to post by the end of the lesson! We love that Ed is willing to try new things and push himself to set a good example for Bella! What a great life lesson.

Ed tells Linda, "Bring on 3'6!". Maybe not yet, but perhaps Daddy Leadline at Ludwig's 2013 could be on the horizon?
